Pink Cupcake Shaker Card for Share Handmade Kindness Week #4: Strangers

It’s week four of the Share Handmade Kindness Challenge hosted by Jennifer Mcguire. This week’s recipient: strangers. I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to create a card for Jennifer’s card shower.

Share Handmade Kindness Cupcake Shaker Card Hero Arts Wendie Bee Stamp Right Up

I created this shaker card using the Hero Arts stamp created in partnership with Jennifer for the Share Handmade Kindness initiative.  Stamping with Stayzon never works well for me – thank goodness for my Misti!! I had to double stamp this for the sentiment to show as boldly as I wanted so my Misti was the shining star for this project for sure 🙂

The sequins & confetti were from Simon Says Stamp (moonshine sequins, Pretty Pink Posh gold confetti) – and the tiny hear confetti’s are from a Martha Steward pack; although I have found a great indie shop that has a TON of fun confetti’s – they are literally called Ton, you can check them out here

The glittered cupcake was from my post here – since Emily’s favorite color was (dark) pink, I knew this would be the perfect project to use it on!  I was hoping to include one of my handcrafted matching scented cupcake necklace; I have emailed Jennifer to ensure that is ok first though.

I hope she likes it! I will be including a personal message for her, and even some Canadian flag stickers in the envelope for her too that she can share with her little sister 🙂

That’s all for this project – thanks for stopping by & see you next time!

Share Handmade Kindness Week 2: Scented Cupcake Earrings & Elizabeth Craft Vinyl Peel Off Glitter Stickers Card

Last week I participated in the Share Handmade Kindness challenge hosted by Jennifer McGuire Ink.  The first week was to create something handmade for a friend or family member.  This week is the second week for the challenge, this week we are to share a handmade project with someone who works in the community.  I just recently discovered these ‘peel-off’ stickers from Elizabeth Crafts.  I knew that they would work perfectly with the Mama Elephant sentiment from Carnival Cupcake Toppers for a card to go with the scented cupcake earrings I made for my doctor that worked with me for 4 years through my recovery of a car accident.  I just recently moved away and never got a chance to give her something, so I knew that my little cupcake earrings would be perfect pairing with this card!

I will be doing a video on how to create the card soon so stay up to date by subscribing to my YouTube channel

Hello Stampers,

Just wanted to share with you my latest design team post for Scrapbooks By Design.  I love that a lot of the holiday stamp sets from Lawn Fawn can be used throughout the year, and Baaah Humbug is just one example.

You can check out the project, and see all the supplies I used for this card over on the SBD blog – here is the card I made:

Share Handmade Kindness Challenge #1 ~ Lawn Fawn Making Frosty Friends No Bulk Shaker Card

Hi Everyone,

I normally don’t get into many challenges, but this one had me at kindness…  Jennifer McGuire is hosting a ‘Share Handmade Kindness‘ challenge.  For the whole month of November there will be challenges to share the art of creating with someone – each week will be different.  This first week, will be share something with a friend or family member.  Jennifer wanted to do something to share kindness, and has teamed up with Hero Arts creating two exclusive stamps for a charity with a cause I really believe in: anti-bullying. What I love even more is that a significant portion (25%) of the proceeds will be going to the charity!

You can get both the photopolymer set on the left, and the single wood mount stamp from Simon Says Stamp or Hero Arts. I got mine today 💕

My card was made for my friend Carmen, who is gentle, kind, understanding and always patient with me even on my worst days.  She is a great friend and I really wanted to let her know that with this card ❤

Carmen lives in a different province than I do, so I wanted to make a card that I knew would survive mailing.  My new We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool just arrived the night before I made this.  I ordered it explicitly for the use of making no-bulk shaker cards and confetti pockets , so I couldn’t wait to try it out!

To make the window, I die cut the rectangle using Lawn Fawn’s large stitched rectangle dies.  Then, using an Avery Elle stamp storage pocket, I fastened the die to the pocket with washi tape, and ran the fuse tool over three of the four sides along the inside of the die – using it as a guide.  Leaving the top open, I filled it with iridescent confetti large glitter and added a few snowflake sequins, then fused the final top side of the inner part of the die.  (You can see an example of how this is done in one of Jennifer’s YouTube videos.)

The snowmen buddies were stamped in memento tuxedo black and die cut with the coordinating dies. Using my Spectrum Noir markers, the scarf was colored using DR1, DR6, DR7; the earmuffs were LV3 & LV2 with a light touch of the colorless blender to blend a little more.  OR1 & OR2 were used on the carrot noses, and IB1 was run along the outline of the snowmen to make them look icy cold 🙂

Because the stamp pocket is plastic / acetate, I knew only Stayzon white would work – I stamped the sentiment, then realized that it needed a little something more, so added a few stamped snowflakes for added interest.

So that I had somehwere to write a note, I added a 4 x5.25″ top folding note card inside.  The white sentiment got kind of lost when I did that, so I blended some Broken China distress ink fading to white along the top of the inner note card to highlight the sentiment when the card was closed.

This is entry for the #sharehandmadekindness initative.  I love Jennifer’s videos, she is a beautiful artist, and an even lovelier person.  This challenge is something that really means a lot to me, and I hope you will join me, Jennifer and thousands of other crafters & artists in turning our love of creating into the kindness of giving!

Spring Brights Gorjuss by Santoro Decoupage ~The Dreamer Greeting Card Kit

Hello Crafters!

Today’s project is very different from my usual style, but I have been really smitten with these Gorjuss by Santoro’s decoupage kits that I keep seeing in my local craft store.

The kit includes die cut pieces, and four pieces of A4 (8.5×11″) sheets of coordinating patterned paper. I chose to make the little lady with the most pink – since it’s my most favorite color ❤

I can’t believe how cute it turned out, and took me about 15 minutes to make! It was my first one, so I will be devising a way to get rid of the little nubbins that were left behind from taking them out of the diecut sheet.

I punched the small mushroom from the actual package that the card kit came in – I love that the ENTIRE package can be used for crafting!

You can’t see it in the photo, but I added some Wink Of Stella clear to her hair and the clouds. I can’t wait to make the rest of them – there are EIGHT decoupage projects in the kit, with four full sheets of patterned paper.  All I really needed was half a sheet of card stock for the base, some foam pop dots & a bit of glue.  I used some ribbon I had kicking around, but there are enough spare bits & pieces on the inside of the packaging that if you didn’t have anything like that on hand, you could still make a really cute Santoro Gorjuss character card with only glue and foam squares.

Home For Christmas Card featuring Stampin Up Designer Series Paper

Hi Stampers!

It’s been a busy few weeks for me – I have had three very successful workshops that featured a card made with the Home For Christmas designer series paper from Stampin Up.  I LOVED the vintage retro look of the pattered paper and I knew I had to use the paper in a workshop!  The fun sentiment was stamped with the Cozy Christmas stamp set, once in Real Red, then again in Mossy Meadow.  I cut the ‘season’ word out of the first stamped image then adhered it to the mossy meadow image using some dimensionals after I punched the mossy meadow image out using the 2.5″ circle punch and finally attached that to the doily using  my tombow.

I created tags based on a pin I found, and two cards:  this is my favorite card that we made.  I was so happy with how it turned out that I will be using these for my Christmas card list this year too 😛
