Spellbinders Just Add Cake Confetti Pop Splash Of Happy Card

Sending You a Splash of Happy!

I have another project to share using the Spellbinders Just Add Cake Birthday Cardmaking Kit, and this time I went straight for the champagne!

One of the things I love about the Just Add Cake box is just how many completely different styles of cards you can create from it. For this card, I used the Confetti Pop Etched Dies to create a champagne bottle that looks like it has just been popped — cork flying, streamers curling and a huge celebratory splash bursting right out of the bottle.

I kept the colour palette fairly simple so all that movement could be the star of the card. The soft Blush ColorWheel Cardstock background gives the design a fun, feminine feel without competing with the die cuts. For the bottle, I layered Fern and Peridot ColorWheel Cardstock to create the different shades of green and give it a little more dimension.

The oversized splash is what really makes this one for me. I layered the delicate splash pieces so they explode upward from the neck of the bottle, surrounding the popped cork and creating lots of dimension without adding a lot of visual weight.

Of course, a champagne bottle needed a little sparkle! I added the curly streamers in metallic gold and scattered them around the splash to carry that celebratory feeling across the card.

For the finishing touch, I added the “Sending You a Splash of Happy” from the June AllCrate club sentiment along the bottom in gold. It ties in beautifully with the streamers and works for so many occasions — birthday, congratulations, a new job, an anniversary, or really any occasion that calls for popping a bottle and celebrating.

I especially love that this card shows another side of the Just Add Cake Birthday Cardmaking Kit. The box may be built around birthdays, but the individual dies and sentiments can go far beyond birthday cards. Confetti Pop is definitely one of those sets I can see reaching for again and again.

Hero Arts Beep Beep & Spellbinders Mugs & Kisses Pumpkin Spice Fall Mug Card

There is something about the first fall cards of the season that makes me want to pull out all the pumpkins, warm colours and cozy drinks — and this card manages to fit a little bit of everything into one design!

For this project, I combined elements from the Hero Arts Beep Beep Bundle with the Spellbinders Merry Mugs & Kisses dies to create a warm fall coffee-card scene. I love mixing products from different collections and finding completely new ways to use them together, and these two sets ended up being such a fun pairing.

The card front is divided into four colour-blocked sections, which gave me four little areas to decorate while still keeping everything connected. I used the mug from Merry Mugs & Kisses in two opposite corners, filling each one with a rich brown drink and topping it with a big swirl of whipped cream. A tiny bit of speckling on the cream adds just enough texture to make those mugs feel extra cozy.

For the other two sections, I pulled out the fall dies from the Hero Arts Beep Beep Bundle. I layered pumpkins in different autumn shades alongside the sunflower and scattered a few of the tiny leaves around the design. Repeating those elements in opposite corners helped balance the larger mugs without making the card feel too symmetrical.

And really, there was only one sentiment this card could have:

PUMPKIN SPICE & EVERYTHING NICE

The sentiment comes from the coordinating Hero Arts stamp set in the Beep Beep Bundle. I stamped it onto a raven strip, good embossing power to make it pop & placed it right across the centre where all four sections meet. I love how that little bit of contrast pulls the entire design together.

All of the coloured cardstock on this card comes from the current Spellbinders ColorWheel Cardstock Collection, which has 48 coordinating shades.

For this project I worked with a warm autumn palette of Alabaster, Merlot, Sicily, Carrot, Terra Cotta, Cinnamon, Saffron/Beeswax, Fawn, Fern and Truffle. The mix of creamy neutrals, pumpkin oranges, deep red, golden yellow, green and brown gives the card that unmistakable fall feeling without making everything blend into one big sea of orange.

I especially love the contrast between the Alabaster mug and background pieces and those deeper autumn shades. It gives all of those tiny die-cut details room to stand out.

This one was also a good reminder that seasonal products don’t necessarily need to stay within their original collections. A mug from one set, pumpkins and flowers from another, and a great fall sentiment were all it took to create something completely different.

Now I just need an actual pumpkin-spice drink to go with it. ☕🎃🍂

Taylored Expressions Falling For You Triple Mini Slim Stencil Card Set

Fall cards do not always have to be rust, mustard and brown! For these cards I pulled out the Taylored Expressions Triple Slim – Falling For You Stencil and gave the autumn foliage a much brighter colour palette.

I used Lawn Fawn inks in Mermaid, Juice Box, Fake Tan and Pumpkin Spice, and I love how they work together. The Mermaid adds that unexpected pop of aqua against the oranges and purples, while Fake Tan and Pumpkin Spice keep everything firmly in autumn territory.

The Triple Slim stencil makes it easy to create several different designs from one stencilled panel. I used the foliage in a few different ways — as full backgrounds, as borders framing the sentiment, and even left plenty of white space on one of the cards so the leaves could really stand out.

For a little extra dimension, I added some gold accents and die-cut leaves throughout the designs. I love the tiny bit of sparkle against all of that saturated colour, especially on the more open card design.

The sentiments were popped up over the stencilling to give them some separation from the busy backgrounds. “Thinking of You” works beautifully over the full foliage pattern, while “Sending Love Your Way” fits perfectly between the two bands of leaves.

I finished everything off with teal card bases, which pull the Mermaid ink forward and tie the whole collection together.

This is one of those stencil sets that gives you so many possibilities from a single colour combination. Same stencil, same inks — but three completely different looks.

Supplies: Taylored Expressions Triple Slim – Falling For You Stencil; Lawn Fawn inks in Mermaid, Juice Box, Fake Tan and Pumpkin Spice; white cardstock; teal cardstock; gold cardstock and embellishments.

I am definitely not finished playing with this stencil this year and will go back to my tried & true color combo of Mulled Wine, Toffee & Sweet Potato Pie 🧡❤️🤎
