Mama Elephant Me And My Dinosaur with Scenescapes Builder Slimline Pop Up Box Card

Mama Elephant knocks it out of the park again and again – each new release they drop leaves me excited, and broke 😛

My latest haul included Me and My Dinosaur stamp & die set, along with this Slimline Scenescapes builder die set. This was my first go at using the Scenescapes Builder set, and it didn’t quite turn out as saw it in my head. Does that ever happen to you too?
Once I had it all assembled, I realized it needed a bit more something for the background, but the Dinosaur’s made it super cute so I still kept it instead of disassembling it and starting from scratch.

Assembly of the Slimline Scenescape Builder is actually pretty easy – MaMa Elephant has a great video showing the assembly of the card base, and having assembled pop-up-box cards before, it was actually pretty easy.

I am going to have another try at making a project with this Scenescape builder die set again soon – stay tuned!

Sizzix Cupcake Card Die ~ Pink & Sparkly!

I have had this Sizzix cupcake for for a while now, and I had a stroke of inspiration when I saw Doodlebug’s Hey Cupcake enamel sprinkles in my local craft supply store. I knew I had to pull out this die set to make a card with these cute sprinkles!

The construction of the cupcake was super easy – I used 110lb card-stock for the base, cut just above the score line to allow a top folding card base.

Using foam tape under the cupcake base and ‘icing’ layers gave it just the right pop of dimension; and a C00 Coptic marker to lightly add in some shading to create more dimension in the icing.

A white gel pen & crystal effects added a perfect gloss on the cherry – glued flat to the icing layer.

Sweet As A Peach

I just can’t get enough of this Sweet As A Peach stamp set!!! CASED from a pin on Pinterest, I modified the design to make it my own.

Using sponge daybeds to add that hint of secondary colours on the flowers, peach and leaves is such an easy way to add dimension to the stamped images.

Sweet As A Peach with Stampin Up

Summer is in full swing, and Stampin Up’s Sweet As A Peach collection is the perfect suite to kick it off!

Using the Sweet As A Peachg 12×12 Designer Series Paper (DSP) along with the photopolymer stamps and coordinating dies, I used sponge daubers to ink the peaches (stamped in pale papaya) and inked for dimension with calypso coral. Pear pizazz was used to stamp the leaves, and the lightest yellow I had to create the flowers.

Lawn Fawn Mini String of Lights

Just a quick share of a card I case’d from Lawn Fawn‘s design team using the Mini String of Lights die. I didn’t have the Off Set saying sentiment stamp set, so I used Cheery Christmas instead.

This was easy to create, but a little time consuming to do all the paper piecing. If you’re on the fence about getting this die – do it! There is so much you can do with it, and with the smaller scale you can use it as an accent to so many holiday themed cards!

Prima Marketing Autumn Sunset Card

Autumn is wrapping up & Old Man Winter is rapidly approaching – what better time to create this card using Prima’s Autumn Sunset collection.

I used the 6×6 paper pad, along with the chipboard & ephemera pack to create this card, along with Lawn Fawn’s stitched leaves dies that I inked with Distress Inks to create the accents.  The tiny metal acorns I found at a local store and finally got to use them; attached with hemp twine.

It’s Snome Time Cards with Crafters Consortium Paper Collection

This gallery contains 8 photos.

As an avid card maker, I’m not usually one to buy 12×12 paper collections. But when I saw this It’s Snome Time paper collection illustrated by Hez Cuppleditch I just had to have it. Those Gnomes are so cute!! I … Continue reading

Stamperia Alice Collection Double Z Fold Card

I’m not a scrapbooker, or even a mixed media artist so I rarely buy 12×12 collections. But this Alice collection by Stamperia really hit it out of the park for me. I love that there are different panels ready to use on your project, but also within the full 12×12 images there are lots of images that can be cut too.

As soon as I saw this Alice collection I knew it would be perfect for a Double Z fold card layout. This is an A2 size card, but even with the larger 12×12 scale Stamperia’s collection really worked for this fold. I can’t wait to try more fancy folds with this collection & the paper I have remaining!

Prima Marketing – Fruit Paradise Cards

Summer is ending so I was really inspired to use this collection from Prima before diving head first into Christmas cards.

I love how the fruit & florals in this collection paired really well together and I was inspired to pull it out and see what I can come up with.

I created two cards with the bits I had left from this collection. Even though it’s retired I had originally purchased quite a few pieces from the release so I had lots of left overs still. I now have a bit more room to add to my craft room stash 😜

Crazy Cat Lady Card with Photoplay Paper Whiskers Collection

Photoplay Paper does it again with this super fun & whimsical Whisker paper collection!! I have a girlfriend who loves cats just as much as I do, so I knew I had to make her this card for her!!

I created a few super basic layers, then matted the trimmed sentiment panel with Tattered Lace torn edge rectangles dies.  This card took literally less than 15 minutes, but it sure made her day when it arrived in the post.  🙂
