Stampin Up’s new Pinwheel Sizzlit

Stampin Up Pinwheel Sizzlit Card

Stampin Up Pinwheel Sizzlit Card

Hiya Stampers!!  Here is my first creation using the Pinwheel sizzlit from Stampin Up! that just arrived on Monday.  I *finally* tidied up my work table and had some time to sit down and tinker…. only to make another gigantic mess creating this card  😛

This is the first of many I suspect, as what I had in my mind isn’t exactly how it turned out – but it was still cute enough so I decided to keep it.  I wanted to put a banner or bunting across the top – but I don’t have the pennant punch… So I improvised and used the petite curly label punch instead.  I think it would have looked more like I wanted if I had of put a few more layers of bakers twine and bows at the end?!

Guess I will have to get to the work table tonight and find out huh?

materials used:

  • Baja breeze card stOck (base)
  • Stampin Up Pinwheel
  • Subtles patterned DSP
  • Whisper White
  • Dots Embossing folder

Midnight Musings

I have been so busy with life the last week I *finally* got to sit down at the crafty table! *does the happy dance*

I just got my Sale-A-Bration goodies and I thought I would tinker with a technique that I will be using in one of my workshops. I don’t know what it’s called – bit when done correctly it gives the appearance of movement to an image

Here is what I made:

I cropped the background out (read: my messy craft table)- so it’s hard to see the crumb cake sponged edges that add to the vintage look & feel of this stamp set.

This was my first attempt with this technique & this stamp set so I think I will have another go at it… Tomorrow

Until later Stampers

Stampin Up Owl Punch Card – Owl Always be Your Friend

Does the owl punch ever get boring?! I freakin LOVE this punch!! So many different uses, for the owl alone!  Not coutning the different critters you can make using the shapes from the punch.  Penguins, bears, devils – you name it, someone has figured out how to make it with the owl punch.  I have a whole board on Pinterest dedicated to it!  Check it out:  Owl Punch

I belong to two groups on Facebook that are about sharing ideas & examples of Stampin Up! cards and creations. Friends of Stampin Up hosted a swap this month, with a “friendship” theme.  Here is the card I made for the swap:

Adventure #1: Waiting for the UPS driver

Why is it that when you’re eagerly awaiting a package it always is the last one on the delivery route?! *giggle* I swear, I was checking the door to my apartment, and the foyer entrance door every half an hour to make sure I didn’t miss the driver somehow. Pacing to the window and everything!! It was kind of funny in a crazy way now that I look back on it. >_<

I got the box and ripped it open, it was like Christmas!! I immediately started tinkering with what I had gotten.

Using the “Kindness Matters” stamp set, I made this really pretty butterfly card.  I must give credit to Tami White for the inspiration and tips on how to use clear mount stamps. You can view her video tutorial here: http://youtu.be/NB8RkC-4XAA

It was her tip on how to..ahem… “separate” (cut)  :O clear mount stamps so that you can use single images.   That is how I was able to stamp the butterflies vertically.
