Valentine’s Day Bee Mine Candy Tag Pouches with Paper Smooches & Lawn Fawn

Paper Smooches Lawn Fawn Bee Mine Valentine's Day Candy Tag Pouch by Wendie Bee of Stamp Right UpWhen I saw the project that Jennifer McGuire did using these Paper Smooches dies I knew I had to make them too! With Valentine’s Day coming up, I was inspired to take her project and run with it – and that’s when I came up with making the tag in to a pouch! While Jennifer’s project was super cute with the Burt’s Bees, I had just recently done a project with chapstick, so I decided to put lollipops in the pouch; but you could put anything you wanted in there :).  Die cutting fun foam was much easier than I thought, and I only needed to run the foam through my big shot once and it cut through perfectly.  I also decided to use the heart outlines that I got when I die cut the red foam to fill on some of the space on the front of the tag.  I just used my paper snips and trimmed off the top part of the heart & adhered them down with the matte  medium.  Having the precision tip applicator bottle made it much easier to apply the adhesive where I wanted it and not get my project all goopy.  When I went to choose a sentiment, I knew the Bee Mine stamp set from Lawn Fawn was a perfect addition for the pouches.

Once I had created the front of the tag, I die cut another tag and adhered it to the back with a strip of Scor-tape.  I decided that tape would be best rather than liquid glue as I needed something strong since there wasn’t a lot of room to put glue so as not to interfere with the size of the pocket too much.  If you don’t have scor-tape at home then you could use liquid glue, like TomBow – just make sure you give the project ample time to completely dry.

Here is a picture of how I applied the tape to allow for enough room inside the pouch.  You could stamp a To / From stamp on the backside of the pocket, write a personalized note or just leave it blank.

Once I had everything assembled, I decided to add some Wink Of Stella to the hearts, because you know – a little glitter is always better 😛

Here are the finished projects – to see a full tutorial on how to create the front portion of the tag, you can check out Jennifer’s video here.  There is also a full supply list below if you would like to make these yourself at home ❤

Lawn Fawn Stinkin Cute Skunk 4bar Note Card

How many times have you heard “that’s so stinkin cute”? Well, now there’s a stamp for that!! Lawn Fawn had released this exclusive stamp as a free gift with purchase for Black Friday, but I am sure it will be available in stores soon (they did the same thing with the ‘You Color My World’ stamp set a few years ago too)

This little mini set truly is ‘stinkin cute’!  The card I created could be used for Valentine’s Day, or just for a general everyday just because card.

Here is what I used to make this card:

Lawn Fawn

  • Stinkin Cute mini stamp set
  • Large & Small Stitched Ovals dies
  • Journaling card die (strip of hearts)
  • Let’s Polka In The Dar 6×6 paper pad
  • Lobster dye ink pad
  • Licorice dye ink pad

Valentine’s Day: Squirrels In Love

Just a quick post today to show you a card I made for Eric – we have an inside joke about squirrels, and since Stampin Up doesn’t have any squirrel stamps I went to my local scrapbook store & got this set from Kaiser Craft

A special thanks to Cee Cee for the inspiration for this card – I pretty much cased the entire thing, but just changed the paper & colors to fit with the supplies I had on hand.

Masculine Valentine’s Day Card Workshop Reveal

Hiya Stampers!! It is still FREEZING in Montreal.  Like gross cold.  Which, as always, gives me a great excuse to not have to go out, which means I can play in my craft room!! Yay!  I just moved to Montreal on October, and everyone tells me that this is an unusually cold winter.  Like that makes me feel much better – it was TWENTY degree difference from back home (Vancouver) to here last week.  o_O

So, here is a sneak peek at one of the cards that we will be making in the Valentine’s Day workshop this month using the new “Just Sayin” stamp and die bundle that Stampin Up just released in their new Occasions catalog last week.

Stampin Up Valentine’s card Montreal style

Well, it’s -19 in Montreal today.  Yep. MINUS NINETEEN!!  Which gives me the perfect reason to not go out, and stay in my craft room all day!!!

Now that the holidays are over I am able to host workshops again.  I have two this month that are going to be great:

  1. The Official release party for the new Occasions catalog: Saturday January 11th, 2014 in Montreal, Quebec (“NDG”) $20 per person

Using all the latest items from the NEW Occasions catalog this workshop will feature 4 projects: 3 cards and one 3D project (like a post it note holder, or gift box, etc).  But that’s not all!! To celebrate the release of the new catalog, each attendee will receive a free copy of the new catalog and a FREE GOODIE BAG just for attending!

  2. Valentine’s Day card making workshop:  Wednesday, January 15th, 2014 in Montreal Quebec (“NDG”) $15 per person

Featuring 3 different cards: two feminine and one masculine card, this workshop will feature many different techniques including wet embossing, die cutting and more!

Here is one of the cards that we will be making for the Valentine’s Day workshop:

We will be using the limited edition “Follow My Heart” stamp set for this workshop – there is something romantic about the Eiffel Tower is there?!  *sigh*  And being in the French province of Canada, I thought this stamp set was very apropos this year.

Be sure to register for this card making workshop if you are in the Montreal area – the class fee is only $15.

Until next time stampers!!

Crazy for Coloring!

Coloring.  Not just for kids anymore!  I just recently acquired a set of 48 Prismacolor markers.  These are very similar to Copic markers – they are alcohol based ink which allows for blending and non-streaking when filling in.

Thanks to the brilliant Darlene Devires and her tutorial post showing step-by-step instructions on how to color with copics markers (or Prismacolor in my case) I was able to color this Mouse stamp that I had got to make boyfriend a Valentine’s Day card with.

And here is my first colored image using alcohol markers:

Those penciled notes you see in the top left corner are my notes with each of the colors I used to create this image so I know for next time what the best colors are to use.

Yay!

15 minute wonders: Valentines Note Sized Card

Have you been looking for a quick and easy Valentine’s Day card idea that is easy to reproduce?!  Check out these newest designs – I created these little 3×3 note card sized Valentines in 15 minutes each!  Yep.  That’s right.  15 minutes.  Each of these designs require very little fussing about and can be made with household items and basic supplies that won’t break the bank.  That’s my favorite part about them – cheap & easy!

Stampin Up Outlined Occasions Valentines Day Note Card

I got the inspiration for the flags card from the uber talented Kritina Werner; here is the link to the original video tutorial.

I have also created 3×3 note sized Valentine’s Day cards using the oh-so-verstaile Owl punch from Stampin Up!  There are SOOOO many ways to use this punch you will never run out of ideas for it!!

Here are two of my newest creations:

The owl punch is incredibly versatile and can be used to create a wide variety of critters other than owls!!  I have seen penguins, bats, super hero’s etc.
