Spellbinders Spectacular Christmas Collection

There’s something extra special about creating holiday cards that make people smile, and the Spellbinders Spectacular Christmas Collection certainly delivers! I had the pleasure of creating these projects as part of a Crop & Create workshop, where we were introduced to this adorable collection filled with festive critters, cozy accessories, and plenty of holiday charm.

From cheerful bears and playful penguins to sweet reindeer, each character has its own unique personality. I had so much fun mixing and matching the accessories—oversized holiday glasses, cozy scarves, earmuffs, party hats, cupcakes, mugs, and Christmas pudding—to create a collection of whimsical cards that are guaranteed to brighten someone’s day.

One of my favorite parts of this collection is how versatile it is. A simple change in background, color palette, or accessory completely transforms the look and feel of each card. The adorable easel card was especially fun to create, adding a little interactive surprise while showcasing the sweet reindeer enjoying a festive holiday treat.

For all of these projects, I used Spellbinders ColorWheel Cardstock, which made coordinating the bright holiday palette effortless. The vibrant reds, icy blues, soft pinks, rich browns, and crisp whites work beautifully together and really bring these charming characters to life.

A special thank you to the instructors and designers behind the Crop & Create workshop for sharing these wonderful projects and inspiration. It was such a fun event, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn new techniques while creating cards I’ll be excited to send this Christmas season.

Whether your style is clean and simple or full of layers and dimension, the Spectacular Christmas Collection has something for everyone. These little holiday friends certainly succeeded in making my spirits bright!

Spellbinders Shiny New Day Collection featuring Squeaky Clean, Petal Fresh and Suds & Buds 3D Embossing Folder

There’s something extra special about a class that blends playful design with meaningful messages—and that’s exactly what we got in the “Shiny New Day” workshop at CROP & CREATE Spring 2026, led by the incredibly talented Kim Kesti for Spellbinders.

This class was all about turning everyday cleaning supplies into bright, cheerful works of art. Think mops, buckets, sprays, and scrub brushes—brought to life in the happiest spring color palette. The combination of layered die cuts and textured embossing created so much depth, while still keeping everything light, fun, and totally uplifting.

What I loved most about this set was the messaging. These aren’t just cute cards—they’re encouraging, relatable, and honestly kind of perfect for real life.

“Life is messy. You’ve got this.” “You can do hard things.” “I’m here for you no matter what.”

It’s such a clever way to pair the theme with sentiments that truly resonate.

All in all, this workshop was a perfect reminder that even the messiest days can turn into something beautiful—with a little creativity (and maybe a cute mop die cut 😉).

This last card was a bonus card, weren’t provided instructions so I used the image shared in the group as an example and made a couple changes making the floor a checkerboard typical ttile looking floor maybe just the colours add a bit more greenery and also the sentiment is with a bonus extra add-on that I purchased as another early sneak peek I can’t wait for you guys to get this collection and see what you do with it!

Lawn Fawn Shello Friends & Stitched Seashells Card Set

Another Crop & Create set, this Lawn Fawn Shello Friends stamp, die & coordinating stencil was so much fun to create with!

This was the first time I have actually used colouring stencils and it was surprisingly easy to get a great result. I can especially see colouring stencils being very handy for mass producing batches of cards. Our ‘homework’ was to stamp and cut for each example card, but I went a little bananas and created enough for multiples of each since it was so easy.

For all cards, these are the Lawn Fawn ink colors used:

  • Bubblegum
  • Moonstone
  • Fresh Lavender
  • Peach Fuzz
  • Merman
  • Butter
  • Celery Stick

Here are the cards I made – I have enough completed components to make a few more of each card left, all I really need to do is the background and then assemble.

If you’re on the fence about the coloring stencils, they’re great when you want to create but don’t want to pull out all of your markers – it makes for an easy card with a great result!

Taylored Expressions Create In Quads Flit & Flutter

Another amazing hit from TE, these create in quads are really a must have staple in every craft room. It takes more time to choose your ink colors than it does to make four ready to go card fronts!

The workshop from Crop & Create led by Taylor was instructed with the blue palette; I pulled this back out and created the warmer palette using Concord & 9th inks from previous events.

I didn’t have all the inks Taylor used, so I substituted from my Lawn Fawn collection – not shown is kiddie pool which I used for the lightest color in the blues palette.

Graphic 45 Guilded Lily Mixed Media Journal Scrapbook Album

I recently attended the CHA Paper + Arts expo in Shaumberg Illinois just over a week ago as part of the Scrapbooks By Design team. It was a great experience and I got to see a LOT of sneak peaks from brands like Sizzix, Penny Black and Echo Park!

At the expo I had an opportunity to attend a workshop hosted by the Graphic 45 team to create a mixed media album using the Guilded Lily collection.  The workshop kit included everything I needed to make the gorgeous album, and it was surprisingly easy to make too! As my reader know, I tend to lean towards the ‘cuter’ side of things, with Lawn Fawn etc, so I didn’t think I was capable of making something so lovely.  The Graphic 45 design team created a beautiful project, which I created as a Scrapbooks By Design design team member.

Here is a peek at the album cover – if you would like to see the complete project and all pages, click here:  Guilded Lily Album Full Post

Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities & Blended Bloom

Of all the alcohol markers that Stampin Up has, Cherry Cobbler is my favorite color.  It is such a rich yet vibrant color, almost regal like velvet 😉

I am hosting an Introduction to Alcohol Marker Coloring class this week, and here is the card the group will be making in the workshop.  Each class participant will get a FREE pack of the Cherry Cobbler marker trio as part of their class fee too!

Vancouver Area Card Making Workshop: Birthday Bash!

Phewf! It’s been a little while since I have been able to post an update for you all!  A lot has changed for me, and I am now back in British Columbia in New Westminster.  Now that my craft room is all unpacked I am finally able to hold card making workshops again.  (YAY!)

The first class I did was a huge success so I hope that some of you will be able to join me for my second workshop in New Westminster. The theme for this card making workshop is “Birthday Bash”. Birthdays happen all throughout the year – so be prepared for them! This workshop will feature 3 cards: one feminine, one masculine and one junior (child / tween) card.

All the materials you need will be provided to make each card, all you will need to bring with you is basic supplies like Tombow or snail, pop dots / dimensionals and fine pointed scissors along with any other tools you find useful when crafting! I provide the project kits, complete with all materials and pre-cut card stock; all you need to do is learn the fun techniques and assemble the projects!

Here is the masculine birthday card design we will be making in this workshop:
