Lawn Fawn Pillow Box Die – Halloween & Thanks(giving)

Lawn Fawn’s pillow box die has now become my go to die for anything party favor, candy box, or even a gift card or a coffee card – it’s the perfect size to fit any standard sized gift card as a matter of fact. I just LOVE this pillow box.  Lawn Fawn never disappoints, and this one really hit it out of the park for me!

The die takes less than one half of a 12×12 sheet of cardstock, and create score lines that make the box ridiculously easy to assemble.  One strip of tape or Tombow and that`s seriously it.  I love how the top of the pillow box opening has a little notch in the underside flap to make it easy to open.  And the semi-circle scored perforations make it super easy to fold the tabs down when you’re ready to close it too.

With fall / autumn quickly approaching – and people are now thinking about pumpkin spice lattes ( 😛 ) I had so many ideas on hwo to use this pillow box die!

I made two Halloween party favors, or candy boxes; and one fall themed pillow box that could be equally as good for either a thanksgiving hostess gift, or just a thank you gift with a Starbucks coffee card inside!

Here are my projects: two Halloween party favors or candy boxes, and one that could double for either a Thanksgiving hostess gift, or just a Thank You gift with either candy, a gift card, jewelry, you name it! The sky`s the limit with this adorably perfect pillow box.

This first box I wanted to try and make something that would be easy to replicate – for a classroom treat, or party favor.  Using the Trick or Treat stamp set, I stamped out the candy corn in Lawn Fawn’s new Pumpkin Spice ink, and filled in the color with my Spectrum Noir markers (OR3 & CT2).  The bat was stamped in Black Licorice Lawn Fawn ink and die cut wit the newly released coordinating dies.  For the focal sentiment, I stamped it in the new Sugar Plum ink, and die cut it out with Lawn Fawn’s stitched circles.  I punched a small hole in the circle, popped up both my little candy corn and my bat, and tied it closed with the Lawn Fawn Spooky twine.  Their twine is awesome because it’s made from hemp, making it thicker than regular bakers twine.  What does that mean? That makes bows easier to tie, and they will stay put after you have positioned them! (yay!)

For my second Halloween box, I stamped out my own backround paper using the Trick or Treat stamp set in Lawn Fawn’s new Doe ink.  The belly band for the pillow box I cut a 2″ wide strip from the new Let’s Polka In The Dark mini 6×6 pad.  From the same pad, I pulled out a witches brew sheet and die cut circle for my racoon that was stamped from the Holiday Party Animal set.

This box was created with fall / autumn in mind – but I wanted to make it versatile so that it could be either Thanksgiving OR just a regular Thank You gift box.  Using the wood grain’s backdrops set I stamped the entire pillow box after I die cut it in Doe ink.  The new Mini Stitched Leaves came in handy as accents for my Fox (from Party Animals) and my Bear (from Love You S’more).  Die cutting each leaf in a vanilla card stock, I blended distress inks onto each leave to create color and really bring out the stitching.  The Thanks sentiment was also from the wood grain backdrops set as well.  Finished off with Lawn Fawn’s Gold Sparkle twine I was super happy with the finished project!

Lawn Fawn Ink Pads with Party Animals Fox Balloon Note Card

I finally got a chance to try out my new Lawn Fawn ink pad haul!!  I learned how to stamp using only Stampin Up inks, so I wasn’t sure how well I would do with them.  They worked GREAT!!  I cannot get over how beautifully the colors layered over each other!! I just love Lawn Fawn ink pads & they are great for both beginner and advanced stampers a like.  If you are completely new to stamping, check out the introduction video on Lawn Fawn`s You Tube channel showing you how these ink pads work, and what to expect.

For my card, I used Spectrum Noir markers to color the fox which was stamped in Memento tuxedo black ink. I stamped the red balloon first, then layered the rest over each other randomly – I love how it turned out!  Using a white gel pen I added the little shine marks to the balloons for some extra pop.

The spectrum noir marker colors I used for this was: OR 1 – 3 for the fox, FS9 for the belly & ear accent shading, IG1 for the shadow effect under the fox.

The sentiment from Starry Backdrops stamp set was perfect for this card too – but there was quite a few that I thought would have worked just as well

Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After Unicorn Puffy Clouds Notecard

As soon as I saw Lawn Fawn’s puffy cloud die, I knew it would be perfect to pair with the Critters Ever After set. The stand alone clouds from Spring Showers die set filled out the card perfectly too.

I cut a piece of 100lb white card stock to 4bar notecard (3.5 x5), then a piece of tide pool from the Pint-sized Patterns: Beachside paper petite (6×6) collection.

The unicorn, from the Critters Ever After set was colored with Spectrum Noir markers:  LY1 – CT1, CR2 – PP2, IB1 – OB2.  To add a little bit of sparkle, I used the silve wink of stella glitter pen – after all, it isn’t a unicorn without a little bit of sparkle right?!

Here is the card – I hope you like it!  As always, your comments are welcome and appreciated:

Accidental Crafter: Washi Tape & Circle Punch Straw Container

So I use a lot of straws. I drink from a tumbler with a lid (like from starbucks): it stays cold longer, and if I spill in my craft room, it does not ruin… well, everthing 😛

Today I went to go get a straw, and had, as usual, a struggle with the dang box. I either can’t get any straws out, or a whole pile of them come flying out when I tap the box to loosen one out :\

So, the save myself the peril of throwing straws all over for the floor for the last time, I turned to my handy circle punch and grabbed my favorite roll of washi tape.  All I did was punch a hole in the lid of the  box, then sealed it shut with my washi tape.  And BAM – easy peasy DIY streaw dispenser.

Crazy crafter wins the straw battle.

Lawn Fawn Sweet Wishes Deer Party Animal Note Card

I have finally moved, unpacked and organized (sort of) my craft area.  YAY!  So I set about to use one of my new Lawn Fawn stamps ~ Party Animals!

Using the Butternut 4bar note card, I used the stitched rectangle dies, along with the puffy clouds, and stitched hillsides to make the scene for my little deer (moose?) critter.  He looked a little lonely, so I thought a tiny mushroom from the Gleeful Gardens stamp set would work great, along with a leaf from Critters From The Past. The sentiment was from Milk & Cookies; I thought it was perfect for this layout.

Graphic 45 Guilded Lily Mixed Media Journal Scrapbook Album

I recently attended the CHA Paper + Arts expo in Shaumberg Illinois just over a week ago as part of the Scrapbooks By Design team. It was a great experience and I got to see a LOT of sneak peaks from brands like Sizzix, Penny Black and Echo Park!

At the expo I had an opportunity to attend a workshop hosted by the Graphic 45 team to create a mixed media album using the Guilded Lily collection.  The workshop kit included everything I needed to make the gorgeous album, and it was surprisingly easy to make too! As my reader know, I tend to lean towards the ‘cuter’ side of things, with Lawn Fawn etc, so I didn’t think I was capable of making something so lovely.  The Graphic 45 design team created a beautiful project, which I created as a Scrapbooks By Design design team member.

Here is a peek at the album cover – if you would like to see the complete project and all pages, click here:  Guilded Lily Album Full Post

Stampin Up Over The Rainbow with Sprinkles of Life

Hey a Stampers!

I’m right in the middle of a move, so all my crafty stuff is still on the truck on tie way to Montreal from Vancouver. While I am waiting for all my goodies to arrive, I had a chance to use my new catalog stamps from the just revealed Stampin Up catalog. My good friend Emily graciously shared her craft room with me so that I could get back to what I love: paper crafting 💕

For this card, I used the Over The Rainbow stamp set with Sprinkles of Life for the clouds.

Here is what I made:

Lawn Fawn Here’s The Scoop & Scripty Sayings Double Scoop Hello!

This has been a great summer so far – not too hot and lots of sunny days.  When Lawn Fawn revealed the Here’s The Scoop coordinating dies I just had to break out my stamp set!

I used the chocolate chip stamp from Milk & Cookies set for the chips in each of the top scoops – I just loved how it turned out too! I tried a few other methods to get sprinkles & this was the best & the easiest 😉

Mama Elephant Ella & Friends

In the summer, going to the park, or outside anywhere in general to blow bubbles is my favorite thing to do. So when I saw this super cute Ella & Friends stamp set from Mama Elephant I knew I had to have it!

I created this card specifically for a good friend of mine who was going through a difficult time – and I included a coffee card inside as a little treat for her.

Here is my card:

To create the grass & sky scene, I first created masks for all of the images, including the bubbles! It was easy to do with plain post-it notes.  I just stamped the images and cut them out and placed the post-it over top of the colored images.  I used the foam blending tool to blend shabby shutters & mowed lawn for the grass, and broken china with tumbled glass for the sky.  To make the clouds, I used a die cut of the balloons from the Up & Away creative cuts as a mask while I was blending in the two blue inks.

Ella was colored with Spectrum Noir markets IG1, IG2 & IG3. Her little bunny helper was colored with BG2.  The bubbles turned out really well using TB1, TB2 & TB3 and topped off with a white gel pen to make the shiney pop out.

Lawn Fawn Make Lemonade Summer Smiles Card

With summer officially here, I was inspired to pull out my Make Lemonade mini set from Lawn Fawn. When the gingham backdrops set was released I just knew these two sets would be perfect together, so I thought I would finally try and create something.
