I can’t believe it!! My first video tutorial!! It’s *really* basic, so be gentle with me – but I have an even better understanding of what I will do different next time so each video will get better and better!!

Hiya Stampers!! It is still FREEZING in Montreal. Like gross cold. Which, as always, gives me a great excuse to not have to go out, which means I can play in my craft room!! Yay! I just moved to Montreal on October, and everyone tells me that this is an unusually cold winter. Like that makes me feel much better – it was TWENTY degree difference from back home (Vancouver) to here last week. 
So, here is a sneak peek at one of the cards that we will be making in the Valentine’s Day workshop this month using the new “Just Sayin” stamp and die bundle that Stampin Up just released in their new Occasions catalog last week.

Well, it’s -19 in Montreal today. Yep. MINUS NINETEEN!! Which gives me the perfect reason to not go out, and stay in my craft room all day!!!

Montreal Card Workshop: Valentines’ Day project #1We will be using the limited edition “Follow My Heart” stamp set for this workshop – there is something romantic about the Eiffel Tower is there?! *sigh* And being in the French province of Canada, I thought this stamp set was very apropos this year.

Using the owl punch from Stampin Up, this workshop will feature three different cards using one punch. I love this punch – it is so versatile that it was the very first item I bought when I started out!
Here is one of the three card projects we will be making. I made this card a while ago and the blog post I wrote about it has gotten so much positive feedback that I thought I would include it as a workshop project! Montreal Stamping & Card Making WorkshopEvery time a new Stampin Up catalog is released, I do a special workshop for my group to showcase some of the new items being released.
For each catalog release party, I always give a little gift as a thank you to my group as well. Here is what I gave them for the Holiday Catalog 2013 release party:
They got a Holiday Catalog, with a wish list stamped from the demonstrator business set, which I attached using the paper clips. Recognize those paper clips? That’s right! They are the same ones featured in the annual catalog!
For the thank you gift boxes, I included: one incentive stamp from the “best card ever” stamp set – available ONLY from a demonstrator, a package of Twitterpatted buttons, and two milk chocolate scissors which I made myself using Callebaut chocolate and molds I got from my local (and VERY awesome) confectionery genius Charlie’s Chocolate Factory
The take out boxes I use for my jewelry making business Miss Kitty Creations. I purchased them from Creative Packaging and I knew they would be a perfect fit for all the goodies I wanted to include.
We did three projects. Here are two of the three. This is the first one we made:
Stampin Up Expressions Love Thinlit card using simply pressed clay rose and buttons in Cherry Cobbler
I cannot say enough about the Simply Pressed clay & molds! Both the button and the rose were made using the Cherry Cobbler reinker and the clay. While I LOVE the buttons in the current catalog, they can get quite costly if you need many at one time. I bought the clay MONTHS ago when it was first released and I still have more than a third of the bag left. I estimate that I have made at least 60 various pieces (if not more) with the molds, and they use next to NO ink from your reinker bottle. Even the regals / dark colors which require more ink to get a perfect color match, you barely make a fraction of a dent out of the bottle. They really are great!
Here is a tip that you MUST use when using these thinlits: put wax paper between your card stock and the die each time you
cut with them. You will have no problem getting the card stock die cut piece out, and it ensures you have a nice clean cut with no rough edges.

I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and I knew I had to make one in a workshop! It was a little more intricate that I expected, but when the group was done they knew why it was worth the work!
Look what my girls made in the Mini Workshop I hosted on Monday! We had a great time – I mean really, how much more perfect can girls night out be when it includes great company & crafting?!
Each workshop I host as a demonstrator, I always create a tutorial / handout for the participants to take home with them after the workshop so that they can recreate the cards again at home. As a little bonus for all you stampers out there, I have included a link to download the PDF tutorials on how to make each card from that workshop! Stampin Up Pinwheel sizzlits with Subtles DSP & stripes embossing folder
This card is super cute, but the pinwheel sizzlits can be a serious problem to put together… that is if you don’t know the trick to assembling them! Check out this video on the easy way to assemble these little guys with ease and no frustration: http://youtu.be/9PCjFyN7-qs
