Graphic 45 Guilded Lily Mixed Media Journal Scrapbook Album

I recently attended the CHA Paper + Arts expo in Shaumberg Illinois just over a week ago as part of the Scrapbooks By Design team. It was a great experience and I got to see a LOT of sneak peaks from brands like Sizzix, Penny Black and Echo Park!

At the expo I had an opportunity to attend a workshop hosted by the Graphic 45 team to create a mixed media album using the Guilded Lily collection.  The workshop kit included everything I needed to make the gorgeous album, and it was surprisingly easy to make too! As my reader know, I tend to lean towards the ‘cuter’ side of things, with Lawn Fawn etc, so I didn’t think I was capable of making something so lovely.  The Graphic 45 design team created a beautiful project, which I created as a Scrapbooks By Design design team member.

Here is a peek at the album cover – if you would like to see the complete project and all pages, click here:  Guilded Lily Album Full Post

Stampin Up’s Good As Gold Card Kit Avon Lip Balm box

When I saw this project by Sam McDonald of Pootles UK, I just HAD to make it!! I was smitten with the Sale-A-Bration Good As Gold card kit as soon as I saw it, and when I saw Sam’s brilliant little box, I knew I had to make one too!

Here is the project I made using the Good As Gold card kit:

I loved the box so much, that I decided to make another one using Stampin Up card stock and the Sale-A-Bration DSP (designer series paper). I love Avon lip balm – it’s a great price, and there is always so many different designs and flavors available, I thought they would be perfect for this project  Here is my modified project using Sam’s tutorial:

Masculine Valentine’s Day Card Workshop Reveal

Hiya Stampers!! It is still FREEZING in Montreal.  Like gross cold.  Which, as always, gives me a great excuse to not have to go out, which means I can play in my craft room!! Yay!  I just moved to Montreal on October, and everyone tells me that this is an unusually cold winter.  Like that makes me feel much better – it was TWENTY degree difference from back home (Vancouver) to here last week.  o_O

So, here is a sneak peek at one of the cards that we will be making in the Valentine’s Day workshop this month using the new “Just Sayin” stamp and die bundle that Stampin Up just released in their new Occasions catalog last week.

Stampin Up Valentine’s card Montreal style

Well, it’s -19 in Montreal today.  Yep. MINUS NINETEEN!!  Which gives me the perfect reason to not go out, and stay in my craft room all day!!!

Now that the holidays are over I am able to host workshops again.  I have two this month that are going to be great:

  1. The Official release party for the new Occasions catalog: Saturday January 11th, 2014 in Montreal, Quebec (“NDG”) $20 per person

  2. Using all the latest items from the NEW Occasions catalog this workshop will feature 4 projects: 3 cards and one 3D project (like a post it note holder, or gift box, etc).  But that’s not all!! To celebrate the release of the new catalog, each attendee will receive a free copy of the new catalog and a FREE GOODIE BAG just for attending!
  3. Valentine’s Day card making workshop:  Wednesday, January 15th, 2014 in Montreal Quebec (“NDG”) $15 per person

  4. Featuring 3 different cards: two feminine and one masculine card, this workshop will feature many different techniques including wet embossing, die cutting and more!

Here is one of the cards that we will be making for the Valentine’s Day workshop:

We will be using the limited edition “Follow My Heart” stamp set for this workshop – there is something romantic about the Eiffel Tower is there?!  *sigh*  And being in the French province of Canada, I thought this stamp set was very apropos this year.

Be sure to register for this card making workshop if you are in the Montreal area – the class fee is only $15.

Until next time stampers!!

Card Making Workshop: For The Birds

Using the owl punch from Stampin Up, this workshop will feature three different cards using one punch. I love this punch – it is so versatile that it was the very first item I bought when I started out!

Here is one of the three card projects we will be making.  I made this card a while ago and the blog post I wrote about it has gotten so much positive feedback that I thought I would include it as a workshop project!  There will also be a Birthday themed card and a wedding themed card using the owl punch as well.  Curious to know how you can use the owl punch to make these?  Register to the workshop and find out  😛

This class is suitable for all levels of crafting experience. All instruction will be done in English, however some stamps and catalogs may be available in French.

My workshops are located in the heart of Montreal in the Notre Dame De Graces (NDG) area.  I am easily accessible by transit and driving (just off the 20 or 15 / Decarie)

Click here to register or call me at 514-482-8543 7 days a week, from 9AM – 8PM EST

Make & Take Sneak Preview

Here it is – a sneak peek at two of the three projects that we will be making on March 2nd for the Vancovuer Papercrafters Meetup.

Aaaaannnndddd drumroll please………………………

Project #1:  Treat Holder / Candy Favor Box

Image

We will be making these little treat bag / favor boxes from the Twitterpated Designers Series Paper.  I love that these are super easy, easy to make multiples at one time, and do not cost a fortune to replicate!  You can at least three or four from ONE single sheet of 8.5 x 11 card stock!
(I will be supplying the treats for these projects for the class – however if you have an allergy to chocolate, or would like to bring your own please feel free)

Project #2:  Swallowtail Butterfly Card

Image

Since I have not been able to decide on exactly WHICH card we will be making for the class, I will only show you which stamp we will be using 😉
This Swallowtail stamp is quite large, and covers almost the entire A2 card size.  For examples on what can be made with this beautiful stamp check out my Pinterest board where I have put together a few lovely examples.  We may even be making one of them in the class.

I have tried to make sure to pick projects that are easy to replicate, and that will be fun for both beginners AND more experienced crafters.

I am really looking forward to our Make & Take event & meeting everyone!

See you all March 2nd!
